I grew up amongst the hills of North Wales and lived in Scotland for a while, but have been based in Chamonix for the last 15 years. I have well over 25 years of mountain experience. Highlights include many classic ice and mixed climbs in Scotland with several new routes, many grand courses of the Alps such as the Eiger north face, new routes in Alaska, high altitude experience in the Peruvian Andes and on Khan Tengri in the Tien Shan Himalaya, Aoraki Mount Cook in New Zealand, classic big wall rock climbs in Yosemite, and several steep ski descents in Chamonix.

I am a full member of the British association of Mountain Guides (BMG), which trains and certifies guides to the rigourous standards of the International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations (IFMGA). This is the highest level of mountaineering qualification in the world and results in the award of the prestigious Guides Carnet, a legal requirement to work in most of the alpine countries.
